A Poem About The Magic of Childhood

A Parent’s Plea

Ahh…

Plush, liquid arms

Embrace Self,

Supporting

Head heavy with Heart,

Unhurried by irrelevance.

Grace-filled fragrance,

Fresh perception,

Unspoilt knowing.

Trusting.

Stay awake!

(It’s a dream).

Keep breathing

Lavish bounty,

Homelands long

Lost by your leaders.

Stay awake

To

Playful perception,

True power, and

Deep, unspoken deity,

The I Am

That you still are.

Stay awake

To

Spontaneous Sunshine,

Artless Affection,

Carefree Compassion,

Inspired Instinct.

Don’t despise your Design,

Dear one,

Nor let

Tragedy distract you.

Take

Me

Back

There,

Tiny Teacher,

Help me

Remember.
